Sometimes when the rain falls and the water runs in rivers

The glitter tinged shower captures splinters of light

Sometimes when my heart breaks and I fall apart

I remember that once I was strong

Sometimes it takes indifference to thrust me into the light

But only your smile can keep me alive.

Over, Under, Sideways Down

Over time I often find

The little things I left behind

Under rocks the crawly things

A world of seething wriggling life

Sideways glances withering looks

My word my heart a hidden nook

Down down a spiralling chase

Will I forgive that mocking face

Two Pebbles (A Short Poem)

Two Pebbles

Two pebbles on a beach

Drenched and warn by the salty sea

Etched with the sun and wind

Two souls left amongst and out of reach

See the small smooth stones

Aged and shaped with time

Worked and turned each day

By natures sometimes torrid hand

One day they will melt to sand

But now through the tides of life

And fickle tender fate

Side by side they land
